Welcome to Pend D’Oreille River Ranch & Regenerative Farm!
“A place to go to free your mind and feed your soul.”
“A place to go to free your mind and feed your soul.”
Our Story...
We were always very in tune and involved in nature, self sustainability, hard work & clean eating. When the family came along we longed more and more for land, quiet & the ability to provide for ourselves.
That opportunity presented itself in 2022 and we were able to secure this stunning 320 acre off grid parcel in the beautiful West Kootenay's.
Our plan for the land is to be able to provide sanctuary, rest, education and empowerment to like minded individuals.
With the stresses of modern day society we feel it is so important to be able to get away for mental health breaks, to reconnect with your inner longings for rest, community, nutrition & a true connection to nature.
With no cell phone service, limited wifi, surrounded by nature we feel this is the place where you can go to "free your mind and feed your soul."
With Air b n' b and Hipcamp rentals coming spring of 2024 you will be able to immerse yourself deeply in nature.
The land boasts a stunning array of wildlife, bird watching, our farm animals, hiking, forest bathing, walking trails, wild flower picking and with being off grid and no lights you will not believe the epic star gazing!
Nestled in the forest by the lake your accommodations are comfortable, restful and offer stunning views of the lake and all the animals that come to visit it.
This is a true off grid working farm. Come for a guided tour of our regenerative farm and meet all the animals!
Our heart is people and growing/raising clean food. We want to share our experiences, knowledge, love of farming, off grid living & self sufficiency with our community.
Our goal is human empowerment and bringing back ancient methods of self sufficiency through courses, workshops & retreats.
We also want to provide a place of refuge where you can come to unplug, get back into nature and reconnect with your soul, inner wants, desires & life goals.
"A place to go to free your mind and feed your soul."
In 2023 we started to host workshops, classes & retreats and the results have been amazing! We have started to build a wonderful like-minded community.
If you are a teacher or a practitioner specializing in teaching empowerment, self reliance skills or retreat offerings please reach out as we would love to chat with you :)

Enhanced Resilience Training
“The Power to Write Your Next Chapter”
Enhanced Resilience Training is a unique approach that combines the latest scientific understanding of trauma and our nervous system. It offers a dynamic mind/body approach to “re-program” the nervous system.
ERT prescribes the ideal mix of physical activities and theory training to target all key factors of trauma's impact on the nervous system and guides individuals back into alignment (healthy social engagement).
This program is for you if you:
•Wish to learn essential basic self-defence skills to protect yourself
•Are experiencing symptoms like anxiety, depression, lack of sleep or appetite etc.
•Wish to increase your own personal resilience and empowerment
•Have a heart and passion for helping others and may consider seeking ERT certification in the future.
•Are a practitioner, teacher or therapist and wish to increase your knowledge of Polyvagal theory and your understanding of how trauma affects the body & nervous system.
•Want to gain new insight and experience in how this specialized training holds the key to resetting the nervous system after trauma.
"It is good to have a blueprint for humanity and a language for it, BUT it is insightful interventions like your Enhanced Resilience Training that really grasp onto the basic principles of what it means to be human and gives us rehabilitation strategies that are very consistent with what our nervous system is really desiring.”
– Dr. Stephen Porges
Instructor Dean Siminoff, a martial artist and instructor for 25 years, has created Enhanced Resilience Training which helps empower people who have encountered trauma in their lives.
Master Dean operates his own martial arts school in Nelson, B.C. and has taught ERT in Uganda and Rwanda since 2015 and through the charity, Martial Arts for Justice, has helped transform the lives of hundreds of victims of genocide.

“The secret that you have found through your training in martial arts is what you give the individual, empowering the person with a focused activity. Being a defensive martial art helps change their narrative so now in their mind they not only have the agency to move, they have the agency to protect themselves, so it's like you are giving them a story they can use.”
– Dr. Stephen Porges

We acknowledge our native ancestors who lived on and cared for the land before they were unfairly treated, killed & subdued to reserves where they continued to be treated poorly.
We feel deeply for them. We feel terrible. Our hearts still break every time we think about it.
We promise to care for the land as they did. We promise to learn from them if they will teach us. We promise to treat everyone we meet with care, compassion and kindness.
We believe it was the Kalispel, Ktunaxa, Sinixt & Kutenai tribes who were here and we honour them.
Pend d'Oreille is also unofficially the name of the valley between Nelway and Waneta. The name literally means “earloop” or “hangs from ears” in French and was given by voyageurs after members of the Kalispel Tribe who wore dangling shell or bone earrings.
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
~George Santayana, 1905
